The idea

Walnut, marble and a quiet welcome.

A private office drawn in walnut and marble. The reception sits on a white veined marble floor edged in black marble with gold veins, behind a curved desk lit along its base, and the entrance lobby is panelled in walnut around a lit monogram and a pair of tall timber doors.

The boardroom is a long table under linear lights, between walls of dark timber and white panels, and a lounge in soft grey leather looks out through the glass. The principal office is the warmest room: walnut panelling with brass detail, a coffered ceiling, a parquet floor bordered with a knot pattern, and tufted leather sofas around a black and gold marble table. A second office pairs pale stone walls with timber shelving.

About the project

Marble at the door, walnut within

Visitors are met at the reception, the desk lit at its base, before passing into the lobby with its tall doors and the monogram. The boardroom follows, long and focused, and the lounge beside it is softer, set against the glass. The principal office comes next, richer and more enclosed than the rooms before it. The second office is plainer and brighter, with a view out.

White marble with a border of black marble veined in gold sets the lobby floor and frames the arrival. Walnut panelling wraps the reception wall and returns in the principal office, where brass detail sharpens it. Tufted tan leather on the sofas there adds a softer warmth against the timber. In the second office, pale stone and timber shelving keep the palette lighter.
