221 | Time Royal Hotel
A city hotel in timber, stone and plum.
Time Royal Hotel in Doha is a city hotel worked in a restrained palette: dark-stained timber, pale stone and warm light, with plum and aubergine carried through the upholstery. A long lobby with a stone reception counter opens to a lounge, a coffee shop and an all-day dining room.
At the centre of the building, a tall planted atrium with a vertical garden and a golden stone wall gathers café tables at its base. Upstairs, round lift lobbies screened by timber fins lead along patterned carpet to the guest rooms and suites, where panelled headboards, plaid carpet and a lit niche above the bed set a calm, consistent room.

From reception to room, floor by floor.
Guests check in at the stone counter and pass into the lounge. The coffee shop and bar follow, then the all-day dining room. At the centre is the atrium, a planted volume that rises through the building, with café seating at its foot. Above, the lifts arrive in round lobbies behind timber fins, and corridors lead off to the rooms. The suites have a lounge as well as a bedroom; the guest rooms each have a lit niche over the bed.
Dark-stained timber runs through every floor as a warm, even base. Pale stone at reception and golden stone in the atrium bring light into the public rooms. Plum and aubergine upholstery gives the lounge its colour, and mustard warms the dining room. The vertical garden softens the atrium's height with green. Upstairs, faceted grey carpet adds pattern underfoot in the corridors, and in the rooms of this Doha hotel, striped throws and plaid carpet soften it.
