ABOUT
Interior Architect Dubai
An interior architect in Dubai brings architecture, interior design and project consultancy together under one roof, so a villa, hotel or commercial space moves from concept to handover as a single process rather than three separate contracts. Idea Art Interior Architects (IAIA) has practiced interior architecture in Dubai since 1994, with more than 320 projects completed across 12 countries — 210 residential interiors, 42 hotels and 69 F&B, corporate and commercial fit-outs.
What an interior architect does, from concept to handover
Every IAIA project starts with a single concept statement that ties layout, material and light together before any drawing is issued for construction. From there, the team carries the idea through architecture, interior design and site consultancy — space planning, structural and MEP coordination, authority approvals, procurement and site supervision — so the design that is approved is the design that gets built.
Villa K, in Meydan, Dubai, shows the approach: the brief was built around one question — what can be done with marble — and the architecture, stone detailing and joinery were resolved together across a 770 m² house. The project went on to win the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2024 “Best Luxury Villa Interior Design in Dubai, UAE” and a string of other awards, and was featured on ArchDaily.
Real projects, not renderings
Echoes of Stone took an existing Dubai villa and re-wrapped it in a new travertine envelope over a brick base, adding a floating first floor and a glazed rooftop pavilion across 8,700 m² of site and landscape — earning a DNA Paris Design Awards 2026 Honorable Mention for Architecture. Outside the UAE, Villa Yakro Hotel & Resort in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, is an 18,000 m² boutique hotel of earth-rendered volumes around a central pool, a DNA Paris Design Awards 2025 Winner in Architecture/Hospitality.
An interior architect works alongside the client’s own consultants — structural engineer, MEP contractor, authority approvers — rather than replacing them, so one concept carries through every discipline without being diluted at each handover. On Villa K that meant architecture, stone detailing and joinery resolved as one brief; on Echoes of Stone, the new envelope, structure and landscape were designed together from the first sketch. An interior architect in Dubai suits owners building or renovating a villa, developers fitting out a hotel or F&B space, and anyone who wants architecture and interiors under one accountable team.
What an interior architect’s process involves: a single concept statement, space planning, structural and MEP coordination, authority approvals, procurement and site supervision through to handover. See our architectural consultancy and development management services for how each stage is structured.
An interior architect can change structure, layout and MEP routing, not only finishes and furniture — the architectural and interior decisions are made as one. Does IAIA work outside the UAE? Yes — alongside its Dubai portfolio, IAIA has delivered projects such as Villa Yakro Hotel & Resort in Côte d’Ivoire, part of more than 320 projects across 12 countries since 1994. An interior architect is engaged from the earliest concept stage, before drawings go to construction, so structural and finish decisions are never made in isolation.
IAIA has practiced interior architecture in Dubai since 1994, led by architects and designers working as one team on every project.
Dubai is IAIA’s home, and the studio has carried that same approach to projects across 12 countries, from villas in the UAE to the Villa Yakro Hotel & Resort in Côte d’Ivoire.
