241 | Private Villa Sharjah
A classical house in gold and stone.
This private villa in Sharjah is drawn in a full classical language. Fluted columns, carved capitals and gilded mouldings frame each room, and polished stone floors are laid with inlaid medallions and borders. At its heart, a round first-floor lobby opens over the hall below behind a gilded wrought balustrade, under a stepped dome and crystal chandeliers.
The ground floor holds the entrance lobby, a main majlis, a formal dining room and a study panelled in dark wood. Upstairs, family sitting rooms and a second dining room lead to the bedrooms, each with its own upholstered wall, damask and draped windows, and the bathrooms pair veined marble with dark lacquered vanities and gold fittings.

The house is entered through its lobbies, the ground-floor lobby first and the round lobby above it, seen through the opening. The majlis and the formal dining room lie off the ground floor, with the study beyond them. Upstairs, the family sitting rooms and the second dining room form a quieter level, leading on to the bedrooms and their bathrooms.
Gilded wrought iron forms the lobby balustrade, a fine gold line that frames the view down to the hall. In the bedrooms, tufted sage upholstery covers the walls, giving the rooms softness and a calm colour. The bathroom vanities are black lacquer and gilt, glossy and dark against the pale stone. The study is lined in dark wood panelling, warm and enclosed. The villa stands in Sharjah.
