In this concept design, visitors arrive first into the palm court, open to the sky through the glazed roof. The deck leads between the palm beds towards the café tables, and from there the halls branch off over two floors. The games rooms are darker and more enclosed, set around the billiards and the play zones, while the lounges sit at the edge of the court and keep a view back to the trees and the daylight.
Pale pebbles fill the palm beds and the deck crosses over them, a natural ground beneath the trees. Red lacquer covers the gallery walls, a deep, glossy colour that holds the halls together and stands out against the white floor of the court. Blue café chairs bring a third colour down to table height, so the palette of the galleries is carried into the court where people sit. The centre was designed for Dbayeh, Lebanon.
